As a founder member of Britest we use tools across the site from R&D to Operations, from trouble-shooting to process improvement. The Britest tools are a set of qualitative and semi-quantitative models of a process that enable you to capture knowledge in a structured way. Britest also helps in marrying the perfect process with the perfect equipment. For new products going through R&D the tools are ideal in enhancing understanding, improving robustness and optimisation prior to scale up from laboratory to Pilot Plant scale.
Examples of two processes where Britest tools were used and yielded success can be viewed by clicking on the links below. Robinson Brothers won the best poster prize at Britest members days for both posters.
Robinson Brothers win the ''Best use of Britest Tools & Methodologies to
Derive Tangible Business Value'' Award 2014
Robinson Brothers and Britest conducted a nine month feasibility study into formulation science, which was co-funded by Innovate UK. The feasibility study used existing and new methodologies to meet the product challenge, by specifically designing the properties of a product. This was achieved by careful selection of the chemicals and the processes used to manufacture the final formulations.
The goal was to convert chemicals to a form suitable to a customer's requirements; whilst still maintaining or even enhancing the function of the active ingredients, to open up new applications and new markets for Robinson Brothers and Robac Technology.
At the successful culmination of the project, Britest and Robinson Brothers constructed a poster for entry into the Britest Members' Day 2014 poster competition, which led to winning the ''Best use of Britest Tools & Methodologies to Derive Tangible Business Value'' Award 2014.
